psCARES: Paws for Life K9 Rescue

Paws for Life K9 Rescue is a dog rescued located in Los Angeles, CA, that saves dogs from local shelters and places them into maximum security prisons to be trained by prisoners.  These dogs are not only getting a second chance themselves, they are giving one to the incarcerated men who care for them.  The prisoner trainers are so happy to be giving back to society, as the dogs they train are usually the forgotten ones at the shelter.  They train them and socialize them, and for the dogs that show an aptitude for service, the pups are sometimes gifted to veterans of war with PTSD.

Recently, one of the dogs was gifted to a victim of the Saugus High School shooting to help her cope with life after that trauma.

 This weekend, PFL junior volunteers are hosting a Bake Sale and Kissing Booth at their adoption event. Adoptable pups Chase, Rumor, Marcus, Teddy, Puma, Darius, Cricket and Big Bertha will all be there waiting to plant one on you! 😆
